Monica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 21 years of social work experience who has worked with diverse client populations in settings such as mental health, dialysis centers, critical care, rehabilitation hospitals, and private practice therapy.
Monica earned her Master in Social Work degree from California State University, Long Beach in 2005 and passed her Licensed Clinical Social Work exam in September 2019. Monica also has two bachelor degrees from the University of California, Riverside that she earned in Psychology and Human Development.
Monica’s areas of therapy private practice include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, PTSD, and aging issues. Monica has extensive experience working with aging and older adults as well as those with chronic and serious illnesses. She has an adaptive therapeutic counseling style that combines various approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT for Insomnia, DBT to address various concerns such stress, chronic pain, grief/loss, caregiver burden, and major life changes to meet each client’s specific needs.
Monica’s interests include evaluating each client’s bio-psycho-social factors that influence the issues they’re facing, their health, as well as they’re overall functioning in order to find evidence-based treatments to address these concerns.
